A probe has been launched after an immigration detainee, due for deportation to India, escaped custody and ran across the tarmac of London's Heathrow Airport. A video of the incident surfaced on the internet. The man was chased by the airport security before being detained by the police. He was made to reboard his onward flight.

15-year-old UK teenager jailed for killing Indian-origin octogenarian

A 15-year-old boy was sentenced to seven years in prison for killing an elderly Indian-origin man, who was attacked while walking his dog in Leicester last year. A 13-year-old girl, who filmed and encouraged the assault, received a three-year youth rehabilitation order and six-month curfew.

Rare Gandhi portrait, for which he agreed to sit, on sale in London

A rare 1931 portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, for which he agreed to sit and pose, is set to be auctioned in London this July, with an estimated price of 50,000-70,000 pounds. The portrait, by British artist Clare Leighton during Gandhi's visit to London, was reportedly attacked by a Hindu right-wing activist.
