Northeast grapples with severe floods, over 3 lakh people affected in Assam

The northeastern states of India are facing severe floods and landslides. In Assam, over 3 lakh people have been affected across 19 districts. The Brahmaputra and Barak rivers are flowing above danger levels. In Manipur, more than 19,000 people are displaced, with 31 relief camps set up in Imphal East. The crisis is compounded by 47 landslides in Manipur over four days. Government and army relief efforts are underway, with approximately 2300 people rescued so far.
